B&R Enclosures uses steel materials designed to maximise the longevity of the enclosure. The careful selection of materials and finish has given us some of the longest lasting products available in the market, despite the arduous nature of the application.
Zinc coated steel is used in our standard range of B&R branded products. This is a matte, hot dipped, zinc iron alloy which we believe when combined with our chemical pretreatment and powdercoat finish offers the best possible corrosion protection for our enclosures.
This material is also used in products such as automotive panels, washing machines and commercial fridges and freezers.
This material is then powdercoated in accordance with our specification.
In our tests, this combination of zinc coated steel and powdercoat, significantly outperformed other materials in scratch tests. Other materials tended to have problems with the corrosion getting underneath the paint and eventually lifting it off. We did not see evidence of this with B&R’s materials in a scratch and salt spray test.

Forte FR – Steel
The B&R Forte FR IP65 enclosure range is a general purpose enclosure often used to house switchgear or components in a variety of applications. It is made from powdercoat painted steel and is available off the shelf.

Miner ME – Zinc Coated Steel
The Miner ME is designed to be used in underground for 1000 Volt applications. It’s made from 2mm thick steel with polyester paint to provide superior protection and visibility.
Monarch IP – Zinc Coated Steel
Monarch IP from B&R is an IP66, steel general purpose enclosure and switchboard building system with a huge range of accessories.
Pilbara SP
The Pilbara SP is an IP66 enclosure for the mining and mineral processing industries. Developed to withstand the harsh environments of the Pilbara, it features a 30 degree sloping roof.
Signature SE – Zinc Coated Steel
B&R’s range of IP43/IP55, type-tested, certified, switchboard building system for Low Voltage switchboards and motor control centres (MCC’s).
Universal DD – Zinc Coated Steel
The Universal DD is a steel IP55, double door enclosure from B&R. It has no centre mullion making installation and access to equipment easy and convenient.
Universal NI – Zinc Coated Steel
B&R’s Universal NI range of IP66 general purpose enclosures are often wall mounted using its integrated bolting. It is manufactured from powdercoat painted steel.
